Personality Hotels has my business for life in SFO. Kensington Park was my favorite hotel, beginning about 5 years ago, and I assure you that I will take you up on your offer. By the way - the single feature that we love the most is the painted ceilings in Kensington Park and Hotel Metropolis.

We recently stayed at Hotel Metropolis (Feb. 15 & 16). It was our
second stay there and both times have been great. Your staff there has
always been the best! This trip we were particularly impressed by Lilia
Calvario. What a delightful woman and so nice and friendly and
accommodating. Just wanted to pass that along to the powers that be. Thanks!

First off, even a great city like San Francisco has
to deal with problems like poverty and homelessness. With its proximity to
Market Street (basically San Francisco's "Main Street") and BART rapid
transit, the area where the hotel is located is a haven for panhandlers.
Even though it's less than a block from Market Street, it's on the very edge
of a questionable neighborhood. Because of the street life, it's not
particularly quiet at night, but a pair of foam earplugs should guarantee a
good night's sleep. That being said, the hotel itself is a remarkably great
value for a single traveller. The hotel has been beautifully renovated, with
the compact rooms having a trendy, San Francisco style. The free, wireless Internet access proved to be
quite reliable, keeping me at my work and not giving me much time to enjoy
the room's wide-screen plasma TV. The hotel is attached to the popular
restaurant/bar, Farmer Johns. The wait for a table can be quite long, but if
you're simply hungry they can put together one of their great dinners to go
in a matter of minutes. The location is ideal for access to the Moscone
Center (an eight-minute walk or $5 taxi ride) and, considering the location,
the rates are virtually Motel 6. I awarded the fourth star for the value.
The staff and service were excellent--on a par with some of the city's best
accommodations. As with most major city hotels, there is an extra fee for
parking a car ($30/day), a perfectly reasonable fee in San Francisco (this
is not a car-friendly city and doesn't particularly want to be). I went
there as a freelance journalist covering a major trade show (Macworld at
Moscone) and felt th at this was perfect for a single business traveller. The rooms may be small
(about the same as a good Japanese business hotel) and would probably feel
tight for a family (or a couple who don't get along really, really well).
Unless I'm feeding off of somebody else's huge expense account, I wouldn't
think twice about going back.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay. The Staff was very helpful and
courteous. Housekeeping did a great job. Too bad the 5th floor lounge was
out of order.

Your staff is the best, they had the answer to any question I had, and even Band-Aids when walking the street of SF took it's toll.
The decor and rooms were lovely, peaceful and serene, yet there was an atmosphere of fun with the funky 70's music that hit the perfect chord for us. Wine tasting hour was much appreciated and the library space was used much by us to my surprise, as I normally stay in my room. We felt perfectly at home.
Can't wait to come back and stay again!

I ALWAYS enjoy my time in SF and it's made even more enjoyable by the staff at the Metropolis. Rudy is the BEST! And this time, Bella was so very helpful and sweet when I checked in and as I checked out. The past trip I decided at the start of the trip to stay in another hotel, but quickly checked out and moved over to the WONDERFUL Metropolis, I learned my lesson and from here on out, I will ALWAYS stay at the Metropolis. Thank you so very much for making my stay so enjoyable.

My niece and I had a wonderful experience at your hotel - all of the staff were exceedingly helpful, friendly and professional. My niece particularly enjoyed the surprise that was sent to our room - she had just turned 21 (this was her birthday trip!) and was very excited. I will certainly talk your hotel up - it was very charming and the location was fine(I was a bit worried after reading some online posts). Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

Great hotel - nice hotel staff - Affordable for people on a budget while my friends stayed at the Clift hotel. It was walking distance for me. Hotel Metropolis is nice, fun, and funky. I felt safe and comfortable and glad I did not have to stay in a cheesy hotel. Plus the beds were great.
I will be back.
